Registered apprenticeships combine paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction, enabling workers to gain industry-recognized credentials while building real-world experience. Often described as the “original four-year degree,” apprenticeship programs provide structured training, wage progression, and long-term career opportunities.

Across Nevada, apprenticeships continue to grow as a key workforce development strategy. The state currently has more than 8,237 registered apprentices, 73 registered apprenticeship programs, and more than 760 participating employers across nearly 100 occupations.

While apprenticeships have long been associated with the construction trades, Nevada has expanded programs into healthcare, education, hospitality, information technology, and other emerging industries to meet workforce needs and create new pathways for workers.

“Apprenticeships offer a practical pathway into high-quality careers,” said Director Toni Giddens. “Participants gain valuable skills while earning a paycheck and avoiding the debt that often comes with traditional education. These programs help workers build stable careers and help employers develop the skilled workforce Nevada needs.”

Attendees at the No Debt Career Fair will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet apprenticeship program sponsors and employers
  • Learn about paid training opportunities
  • Explore career pathways in construction, healthcare, hospitality, education, and more
  • Speak with workforce partners about how to apply for apprenticeship programs
